Wanderust was a passion project between my friends and I that focused on the romanticized feelings of wandering a magical world. We created the first prototype during the 2nd Otter Jam and won 2nd place. I was in charge of web graphics and concept art for the characters.
The project’s leads wanted a character that hid their face and was more of an unknown anthropomorphic creature than a human. In my concept designs I incorporated bear and antler features. I was also inspired by “The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask” and conceptualized our own mask mechanic if our character was masked.
On the top right is the logo I designed for the game. I had the cape taper into a sand like finish to explore the themes of losing one’s self to time and our journey, The other photos are just more concept art.
